I bought a 89 CRX with a 1.5. The motor is completely locked up. A guy down the road has a 91 1.6 motor(out of a CRX). He said i could buy the short block for $80. What is the difference between these motors? I checked and the head gaskets are the same(so the parts house says). Like i said im new and have no clue. Thanks in advance for your help.

 

Just the displacement really. Just talking about the blocks there's really not much other than displacement. The engine on a whole is different though, but they're all different, so meh.

D15B6: CRX HF, 62 HP
D15B2: DX/LX, 92 HP
D15B1: STD, 70 HP
D16A6: Si, 108 HP

Is 108 correct? I forget...

I forgot to ask my question. Will this 1.6 short block work with all the 1.5 top end and tranny? im not worried about it being fast just get me here and there AND BACK. lol
