i dont know how to search for this so hear it goes. i bought a s1 to go in my 88 four door with gen1 b16, well the kid i bought it off of said the tranny went under water but had no water in it. well i go to put it in and the tangs that hold the throw out bears one of them is broken off. so i worked with what i had so i used one tang and put thick wire on the other side to hold it to the finger. so the i install the tranny and the handle out side had alot of up and down movement. i was like oh no big deal its the clutch.(its a 6 puck sprung from lsdmotorsports.com) well everything is put back together and i start the car well i put it in gear and the left wheel spins but not the right (it does but not real fast like on left side.) i run through all gears and the a noise i hear sound like the m/f'ing throw out bearing spinning wtf?? the clutch to ingage has to be to the floor i mean to the floor another wtf??? so i at the point of burnin my car or hurtin someone. so frustated and now i have to man up to my dad and ask for his help cause im at the point of not even touchin it. plz help i dont need *********** ****** barkin at me what i did wrong just help plz.

The throwout bearing is what disengages the clutch, so if it's messed up (i.e. one of the arms broken off) it's goign to be difficult to engage the clutch, hence why you have to push it all the way to the ground. It's probably just getting scraped up and not really engaging fully. I have no idea as far as one spinning, and not the other. I'm not very familiar w/ B series transmissions. Also, you can adjust cable clutches on the outside. You screw the little plastic thing down, and you can change where on the pedal stroke the clutch engages. Try that as well, and see if it helps.

so what ur saying is that the fork that pushes the throwout bearing broke. yikes. did u put the bolt in the throw the clutch arm and the throwout bearing fork. and what do u mean the tranny went under water. like in a river or in a lake or what. have u adjusted the clutch cable.

more info plz
sounds like may be a bearing in the tranny. i don't mean the throwout.

hope u can figure it out

it wasnt the fork arm that broke it was the spring that holds it to the fork
and i live louisiana and it went through katrina while in his car and he said there was no water in the oil when he drained it.
i fixed it by the way
