Painted my sideskirts
As you all remember I had type S side skirts before, but they didn't really flow so I took them off

stock of course looks like crap

so I decided to paint the stockies
here is the car with the sideskirts off

And the final product

I did a few things extra this time around...i.e. wet sanding with 1500 grit sandpaper to make it smooth.

yeah procedure was as follows:
1) wetsanding wth 600 grit sand paper to take out all the crap that was built up on them. Then let it dry
2) primer, I used very light coats and about 10 of them
3) wetsand the primer, start out with 600 grit, then move onto 1000 grit, and then 1500 grit. Then let it dry
4) light coats about 10-15 of Krylon 1406 silver paint
5) wait 2 hours, then wetsand the paint with 1500 grit sandpaper to get out the tiny grains of paint.
6) let it dry
7) about 10 light coats of clear coat. I used Duplicolor Wheel clear coat, for 2 reasons. 1) The non wheel clear coat I used on the other sets of sideskirts I had have this white haze to it, and it really shines when it rains...i.e. blotches of white and 2) wheel clear works paint to clear, so its not a big deal that it was done to plastic. '
Overall I'm very happy with the result, there are absolutely no streaks whatsoever, and the paint to touch feels like OEM paint very smooth.
