ehh $200-300

Do it yourself man (if you have acess to a compressor). It will cost a fraction of what a shop will charge, and its a great learning experience.

Why did you even bother with that? Oh! To bump your 10,000 Post ***** Factor!

Thanks Mike! Youre the 2nd person that told me to do it myself! I am going to give it a whirl......again! Orbital sander? Any suggestion on what GRIT to start with to strip old spray paint from the CF hood? I am just wanting it FLAT BLACK. I love how it keeps the glare out of my face on the RoadCourse.

Is the hood in good condition, or is the clearcoat oxidized?

If it is infact in good condition than all you need to do is scuff the surface with this the picture below and a GRAY 3M pad.

EDIT: the stuff that is pictured is about 15-20 bucks a bottle, and a gray pad is only a couple bucks.

well the shop thats telling you they have to paint the fenders too so it matches is right. unless your car is black or you want the hood a differnent color you'll need to blend the fenders to get a good color match.
