Default Just got my car back from JE Performance

I had the Hondata Reflash and IMG installed. Man they make a difference. The car is a whole different animal. It pulls hard from 4500 to 6000 rpm and harder from 6000 to redline. From 6000 to redline I made like 20 more Hp. I dynoed my car when I dropped it off and got 171 hp and 121 tq and now it is at 190 hp and 132 tq. Recommend anyone who wants more power easily get it. All I had at the time of the baseline was SRI and EVO2 exhaust. Here is the dyno sheet The yellow highlighted items are before the reflash and IMG. The green highlighted items are after the Reflash and IMG.

I'm sure he will, the only problem is that only DC makes a header for it right now...and to say the least, its not a very good product. Great numbers man...sounds like your right on track. I'm sure with a header you'll be right at or a little above 200whp

For some reason, exhaust seems really key for this car.

Yeah, I'd wait for the Comptech header as well. Their design and workmanship is top notch. I'm a little surprised about the DC Sports comment though - their stuff usually isn't that bad. Maybe just a "first to market" rush.

dc's header eliminates the cat and 02 sensor, voiding ur warranty. so no thanks to that. comptech should have theirs out within 2 or 3 months from what i hear.
go turbo. dont waste the time with the supercharger. it will be nice for a while then u are giong to want more and not be able to have it. whereas with a turbo all u do is turn a dial or hit a button and BAM! more boost.

did u by any chance ask honda if the reflash voids the warranty? i would figure they will say it does but didnt know if there was a loophole

yeah, back when I got my reflash for my DC5 it was by far the best abng for the buck power mod and still is. Once Comptech comes out with some more stuff like the ice box and exhaust, I'll be getting those and the reflash for my girlfriends Si

JE is a good shop, only ones I've trusted with my car so far since moving from Los Angeles. You happen to see if Travis (black dude at the counter) fixed his 240 yet? He's got a RB26DETT crammed into an S14 shell with RB25 tranny... last one went self destruct on him so he was waiting on a new tranny last I was there.

WTFrick? How do they expect to sell any if they eliminate the 02 sensor? I guess they expect customers to weld in an 02 bung...that's crazy.

Except turbo isnt there from the second you punch the pedal. Turbo also is sounding like its going to be limited on this engine, being as its already a high compression ratio motor. Only time will tell however. Right now, I am considering lettering a S/C take care of the low end, and VTEC take care of the high end. No need for turbo unless they find a nice way to boost it on up without any extra hazards added by this motors compression.

11:1 compression is safe for a turbo to push around 7psi. and no, it isnt there from the get-go, but u will definitely pull more power from a turbo than a 6psi s/c on this car. both will be very nice and create the necessary power, but im partial to turbos because i love the beautiful symphony they create as they spool and the BOV makes that sweet sweet music and u feel all warm and fuzzy inside

I'm supercharging my Si ASAP.

Why am I not going turbo?
1) expletive installing a turbo. We turbo'd my buddy's type-s last week with a GReddy kit and it sucked to install. Not to mention all the cutting and BS. Sure it's powerful and sounds nice, but no thanks. I'd prefer not to pull off my windshield to install it.

2) Who doesn't have a turbo honda?

3) Supercharger = instant, whine = sex

4) The Comptech prototype is putting a good amount of power with a stage 1 kit. I'd say it's comparable to a GReddy kit.

Either way, we will see what happens when I race my friend's turbo type-s @7psi.

it only took about 10 hours to install my friends rsx-s greddy turbo kit. it was bitchy, but the final product was worth it. i'll wait and see what all comes out and when. and prices are always a factor. i wouldnt mind having both sitting on my couch so i could play eni-miny-m0 to decide which to go with. i figure by spring of 07 there will be quite a few options. im not really in a hurry to void out the warranty just yet.
