Default Dual over head cam on a d16z6

Is there a head swap I can do on my engine so that I can have a DOHC Vtec D series engine?

Yes!
All you have to do is remove all the oil form your engine then drive it very hard, then reset your ECU and pop your hood and you should have a B16 head on your D16 block. Or you can go with the Ecotec swap. Either one will net you 763 WHP and 441FT TQ at the wheels.

Im just kidding

Its not possible and just go with a B-Series swap

I was just wondering because the Bseries engines are expensive and I plan to replace most of the internals anyways.

if you plan on replacing the internals just get an LS swap. no point in building a D if you cant afford a B. building the D is for people that have the money for a B but want to be differant.

Wow, what a bunch of ******s.

You can put a ZC head onto your D15/D16. That'll make it a DOHC D series.

Other than the ZC head your only other option is to swap in another motor.

ZC won't fit a D16 block?

Why not?

it's different. i had this same question before a long time ago. i had lots of questions before and after i bought my DOHC ZC. it shares alot of parts with the older integra 1.6 DOHC motor, and you can swap alot of different rods/piston combos from pretty much all D-Series engines, but that's pretty much where most of the similarites end. the bulk of the motor which is the block and head are different than all other honda motors, so the DOHC ZC head will not fit on a regular D-Series block, it wouln't even fit on SOHC block that is stamped ZC. The head and block are specific to eachother.

cool but to be completely honest, if someone really wanted a DOHC ZC head on a D-Series block, any talented machine shop can make it happen LOL HAHAHAHA But yeah, it won't bolt up.

For the cost to take it to a machiene shop to have them make it work it would probably be faster & cheaper to just go get a complete swap.

This is indeed a possibility. First order a B16 Dart head, and then e-manage your car with this fancy equipment...

that is crazy, but thats also an H and F series. thats for the accords n preludes.
but if you did put the h23 on the f 23 bottom would you be able to mount it in a civic? wouldnt the mounts be different? cause your bottem end is still from an accord?

kudos to the guy who did that swap,
and then boosted it
