I GOT SCAMED
i got a 93 civic cx with rear drum brakes so i wanted rear disk brakes since i was planning to go autox later on. i went to this shop in san bruno and told the guy i wanted GSR brakes. he sold them to me for 350 front and rear and TOLD me that it was GSR brakes. then while we were installing it we found out that the ebrake cable were too short so we went back and he gaves us new cable and we AGAIN asked him if it was GSR brakes he said yea so ok all good right. ok it was all good for awhile UNTIL i decided that i needed new brake pads i went and order GSR brakes and THEY DIDN"T FIT! i went to this other shop and had them look at it, they then told me that they were 93 EX brakes !!!! i went back to the shop that sold me those brakes and he said OH they are the same.... and he refused to give me GSR brakes i was being all polite about it at first too.
alright so sorry about all the ramble but my question is, are the 93 ex rear disk brakes the same as the GSR? are the performance REALLY that different and even if i decided that i would just keep it is ex rear and front diskbrake worth 350?
thank u honda-tech and all those who will give me feed-back

i guess its both your faults for not knowing what you were buying/selling, instead you took the sellers word for it, which isn't always good.
i just swapped out my stock eg brakes and i can tell you that the fronts wouldn't fit a 13" rim, so that means the brakes are bigger.
the rears were drums converted to discs, so i dont know if its the same thing. i'd imagine it to be similar.

they are pretty much the same, just slight differences. they both still accomplish the same thing. and your going to pay about the same for rear disc brakes from a civic as well.
i think the 93 ex rear disc is smaller then gsr, the only one that is exactly the same would be 94-95 civic ex-abs. you can contact your local parts and ask for brake pads and they have the same code
i hope this help...and yes it sucks to be scammed, but be more careful bro.

Rear disc brakes do nothing for autocross except bump you into a more difficult class. Your best bet to be competitive with an EH2 would be to swap drums back on, swap in a DX drivetrain, and run FSP.

RS, LS, SE, GS, GSR - they are all the same. In addition, the Civic '92-95 4dr EX, '94-95 2dr EX-ABS, '94-95 4dr LX-ABS, and '94 3dr Si-ABS all have the same brakes as '94-01 non-ITR Integras.

For the fronts, the knuckles and rotors are the same; calipers are where they differ. The '92-95 4dr EX and the '94-95 2dr EX-ABS (along with the '94 3dr Si-ABS and the '94-95 4dr LX-ABS) came with the exact same calipers as Integras (17CL14VN). For the fronts, no, they aren't all that much better. If you want, you can pick up a pair of 17CL14VN front calipers - they will bolt right up to your EX knuckles, and effectively give you Integra brakes (minus the ABS system, the proper proportioning valve, and a larger master cylinder).

This correct. The only differences are the ebrake cables, and 90-93 Integras have larger trailing arm bushings.

I got scammed on $100 for an ITR radio, $430 for 2 CDM ITR clusters & an EL cluster, $111 for an EG6 cluster, $30 for a Spoon oil cap. Yes, never again will I buy from private buyers without paypal.
question again...if im using the same master cylinder/ brake booster from the stock eg, is it fine just using that or should i swap it out and use the integra master cylinder/ brake booster or the 93-95 2dr EX master cylinder/ brake booster?

When I did my drum to disc I used a new master cylinder off a teg n also changed out port valve also so that it brakes evenly. n I used brake lines from a SI to make em work so the lines are long enough.
oh btw sorry bout us loss.
