Default OT: Some pics of my trip to 日本 (initial d nerds beware!) (56k nono)

Ok, here is a selection of pictures from my latest trip to japan!

BEWARE: SOME OF THESE PICTURES ARE TERRIBLE QUALITY (some due to resizing).... I'M SORRY!!

Type One:

The Shop

Me at the shop

The Spoon Euro R

Sick Type R

Spoon Race S2000

RE Amemiya (one of the biggest, if not THE biggest rotarty tuners in japan, my friend i was with drives an rx-8):

Sick FD at Auto Exe (a company that makes parts for mazdas):

THE SECTION FOR INITIAL D FANS:
First Stop (read the one at the bottom)

A gaurd rail on the real mount akagi (it was downpouring that day, so not many pics)

Second stop (for those who don't know, the towm takumi is from is modeled after the town of Shinakawa, and Mt. Akina is A replica of the real Mount Haruna)

Some Pictures of the pass at Mt. Haruna (aka Mt. Akina).

if you look close, you can see the gutters that Takumi used in the corners in this one:

sweet corner:

don't go too fast!

The real tower often shown in the background at the top of the mountain:

The real lake haruna/akina, with the real hotel shown, and swan boats! theres even a cable way like in the one episode where itsuki tries to kiss that chick!

The Skylark restaunt. This is the basis for the family restaurant they alwasy go to in Initial D (the food there was AMAZING) you even park underneath, just like the show!

This next set of pictures was amazingly lucky. we were chillin at the top of mt. haruna/akina... when this rolled up...

And finally, my favorite set... anyone who likes initial d needs no explaining to know what this is. yes it is real, and it was the basis for the one in the show, even the name is the same. and there is even a grumpy old man who works there!

and just to prove i really was there:

yeah, it was a pretty sweet trip. did lots of other stuff too. saw one of my favorite bands in concert, source. got to sing with them... awesome. cruised the c-1, c-2 and wangan from 2am-4am one night. met a bunch of guys at a rest stop. found out what a 1000hp R32 GT-R sounds/looks like. saw a sweet 350Z and R33 GT-R there aswell....

it was a good trip

Invest in a better camera. You killed some really good pic opportunities.

Don't worry man, people all over this site just nit-pick every damn thing. If you mis-spell a word you should be banned. Too many critics On topic, very nice scenery. I would love to visit

that is awesome. man i knew the stuff was dipicted from realistic stuff but i never thought that it would be that much of realistic input as an anime. and the fact that u saw a panda "hachi roku" at the top of the mountain. i would like to know how u found them all.
