Default Cleaning carpets, upholstery...

What's a good cleaner for the carpets and upholstery? I'm trading my car in in a week and I don't want the car to look like absolute sh-t.

EDIT: Sorry, I have a '91 Accord EX, cloth tan interior. Should have mentioned so.

Of course it works... my interior was so damn clean after i was done with it... smelled really good too. Just make sure you get one with a really good attachment, cause thats what your going to be using mainly.

Eh, I'm not going to those lengths, lol. But thanks!

Anything more, eh, simple? I'm not wanting to get an absolute detail job, just something to make it look decent.

Something simple - get a good wet/dry vac (or just a good household vacuum) and go over it a few times. Then use a can of carpet cleaner / upholstery cleaner (~ $3 or $4). You'll spray it on and it'll be a white foam, then you rub it in with a brush (attached to the can). Let it dry, then vacuum again. These cans can be picked up pretty much anywhere, look for the section with carwax and it'll be close by.

Voila! clean carpet / upholstry.

Don't forget to use windex on the inside and outside of all windows, and armor-all on the dash / any other vinyl / plastic.

Don't forget to put on tons of that tire black crap, that way the tech that does the inspection will get that slimy **** all over his hands and tools. don't drive too far after using it because it attarcts the brake dust like a magnet, and makes the wheel covers look like crap.

PS: i gotz kids so I do this in the early spring & late fall

Buy a can of something like this:

and yes, your carpet will be nice. Just keep in mind that this only cleans, it doesn't repair. If your carpet is worn out in spots it'll still be worn out in spots after you clean it. And note that the top is a plastic brush, makes it very easy to use.

And the picture shows upholstery cleaner, the carpet cleaner would be in the same style of can.

I've used this stuff before and it works really well, comes in a green can and you can find it at wal-mart.

I wouldnt use any armor all on the finish, for one it doesnt do anything to really protect and number two it's just making everything shiny, which really hurts visibility when it reflects back into your window.

That was really more at 'Heat's post about using windex and armor all.

Thanks everyone.

I hate that I'm having to trade in my car... I love this car. Transmission is slipping though. Time for a new car.
