well, in general, you don't want to give it a lot of gas in 1st gear. Over the years I have learned that you simply have to take it easier in 1st than in other gears b/c you SOO much torque in 1st. I mean, the gear reduction may be like 3:1 in the tranny and then another 3:1 in the final drive (just estimates/guesses). So that's a total of 9:1 gear reduction, which provides for a lot of torque. So my advice is that you sort of feather the gas in 1st gear and be moderate in your take off. Don't rev up really high, then dump the clutch; that is a no no. Then once u get in 2nd, that is where you'll want to floor it. good luck
3500 rpm is best and feather it out, or if u are on tires, slam it. the prb computer has a *2step* built into of sorts, meaning it has the 5500 rev limiter, and doesnt let u rev into vtec, where wheel hop occurs. 3500, give u time to get traction and get rolling, then hit power at 5700 rpm (vtec)
I've been using 3000. Key is to control the urge to just step on it after dumping the clutch. You want it to grip at 3000 before stepping on it more. I used to always just work like a level-pulley and soon as I dropped it, I'd slam on the gas letting me spin through 4 gears before catching in 5th then shifting back down to 2nd (still got good times!)

My best 60' times (I'm on street tires at about 20 psi, BTW) came when I kept the revs high and feathered the clutch, keeping the tires just on the edge of losing traction.
I think that there's a little better response when finally letting the clutch out versus stomping on the gas alone. You'd do either one once you know you have traction, but the difference is that the engine takes a split second to respond to an open throttle while the clutch acts pretty immediately.

What are your mods? I dynoed at 210whp and 160ftlb of torque. I found it works best to ride the clutch of the line at about 4500 and then let it eat. I ended up buying hoosier drag radials and im very pleased
its a k and n intake kpro straight cat and tsudo exhaust and a stock header
on 205 55 16 i lower mine 2 18 pounds to prevent wheel hop it still spins but the time is better
