Default Can't remove Autolock (no key) -- any ideas?

So I left for Field Training (AFROTC version of "basic training" for officer candidates) last month and just returned today. Well, before I left I put the Autolock on there like I always do. Now that I'm back, I can't find the damn key for the Autolock. Long story short, my Autolock key is on a separate key chain from my car keys/alarm remote (don't ask, lol).

I cleaned my entire apartment looking for that key chain but can't seem to find it. No idea where the spares are either. Pretty much I'm screwed. Now the question is, anyone know how I can get this damn thing off? I called up local locksmiths but they are confused as hell when I try to explain to them what the problem is and just end up saying "sorry, can't help you (click)". I've had this autolock forever (was on my hatchback when it was stolen... they just cut the clutch pedal off and left me an autolock with a clutch pedal...), so the spare keys could be anywhere (I've moved 3 times since I've had it).

I have transportation (my bike), but I really need my car... any ideas/input would be appreciated. Please don't post any methods on breaking the autolock (obvious reasons)... PM's would probably be better for that. If you know of a locksmith in the Seattle area that can unlock the Autolock (prefered method, although I'm getting pretty desparate), please post that here. Thanks.

Nah, if they were all the same key then it would defeat the purpose of the product.

But anyways, I have the cylinder style key. I'm betting a locksmith could get past it, but finding a locksmith who understands what I'm talking about is the problem.

just tell a locksmith you need them to unlock a club u have on ur car

the club is universal & autoloc is basically the same thing
& mention that it has a cylinder lock

he should know what ur talking about
just get em to come out & look at it
he'll take it from there

Well, I found a locksmith who knows what I'm talking about. I was quoted $50 with a $10 military discount. Not too bad I guess. Hopefully he'll be able to get it unlocked tomorrow morning.

I'm going to kick myself in the head if/when I find the key for it.........

Just incase anyone needs a good laugh...

So the locksmith came over and what does he do? Cuts the autolock with a grinder. I could have done that but I was so frustrated with not having a car I just let him go ahead and cut it off. It kind of defeats the purpose of a locksmith though. It's like having your keys locked inside your car and he comes along and breaks your window.

It gets better though. Later that day I was cleaning out my trunk and what do I find sitting inside a box? My autolock key of course... I did check my car several times for the key but I never bothered to open up that box in my trunk. I can't recall how it got there either. Oh well, live and learn I guess.

That's scary. A thief can steal a credit card to order that and steal whatever car he wants to...

A thief would not buy it when it only takes about 5 - 10 sec. to cut through the steering wheel with a hacksaw and remove the "Autolock" 94

If people put the club on the back of the steering wheel then the clubbuster wouldn't work now would it ?

BTW Unbreakable, maker of Autolock also makes "clubs".

While you think about that, go back to school and learn how to spell, or maybe just ask your kid sister how to use the spell check.

PS..... Unless you have something productive to say, STFU and go play with yourself.

I'm thinking the latter, because as we all know ********* can't get any.

I still do this (when I happen to put the Club on....) but for the most part, 95% of the time, I reverse into the parking spot which would render the Club pointless because they can still TOW it out of the parking stall!

It appears that not anyone can just order a Clubbuster. They state on their webpage that they require a "license, business ID or badge # [required] "

Besides, as others have mentioned, the Club can easily be removed via sawing. With the Autolock, you don't even need any tools whatsoever to defeat it...

No need to spend $100+ on a special device.

The purpose of the Clubbuster is to non-destructively remove the lock from the car. This would be a necessary requirement for repo men who would be in trouble if they caused any damage to the car they were reposessing. I'm sure the bank that hired them would be pissed if they found the steering wheel and/or pedals f*cked up in any way. Of course, thieves wouldn't give a $hit about any damage to these parts since they are after other parts of the car.

True Kontai and fcm, didn't even think about that. Anyway, I read that link about the Autolock and he said electronic immobilizers....Is there a way to have something wired up to a current alarm remote to act as a "chip"?? On a '93 Jeep Wrangler I had one of those kill switches that resembled a motherboard....or well like a computer card that had exposed contacts..you insert into a device and the car starts...I've also seen ones that look like the ends of a headphone plug...you put it into a "receiver" of some sort and wait for the light to go out....know what companies offer these types of immobilizers? Oh, another thing.....I wonder if those immobilizers would mess w/ my remote start....

Your talking about "Immobilizers", [headphone jack, computer card], they are nothing more then "kill switches", a relay is used to open a circuit, [starter, ignition, fuel pump power and so on] the relay(s) is/are controlled by the "headphone jack", [DEI has/had one] or the "computer card" with some "computer card" a relay is not used the "computer card" closes the circuits, some even use a "touch magnet".

There are more then a few of them out there... http://www.globalsources.com/g...2.htm, however they do nothing you can't do with your alarm, or make with a pr. of SPDT relays and a momentary switch, ["latching relay" passive "arm" manual reset] and no if wired properly any "immobilizer" will not interfere with remote start operation. 94
