Default Blower going bad

My blower (inside the dash) has basically died this week. It started slowing down. Then when you would turn the AC on it would start very slow and pick up speed but now it's basically dead. My question is if I need to buy the whole blower assembly (item #3), just the motor, a resistor or some other part. Thanks in advance for the help

Check the voltage at the plug to the motor and make sure there are not any shorts or anything like that.

After you verify that, just buy the motor. #4 in the picture. You could probably find it cheaper at an autoparts store though.

In my 88 Prelude Honda wanted $300 for the motor. I got one at NAPA for $69.

f that. Get one out of a junkyard for next to nothing. The motor just pops in basically. Too bad you can't rebuild them. But yeah, take it out and test it first. It may just need a good cleaning.
