Default OT: Looking for a specific bolt. Any hardware guys out there?

This is the tech drawing for the bolt I'm looking for. The bolt can be longer, but the other dimensions must remain the same. Thanks guys.

i told "him" to just use another bolt with a different pitch and just retap the hat. it would have been up and running a LONG time ago...

what's it do? if it is the rotor retaining bolt... you do know it's really unnecessary, although, before i figured that out, the "help!" tools section at autozone carries it

IIRC it's for the top hat of a suspension. It was missing this piece.

I can't find an M10 x 1.25 X 35, except for at buddyclub (and they have failed to ship the bolt time and time again). I have found a countersunk M10 X 1.25 X 40 w/ 6mm hex socket though.

metric system FTW
are you only supplied with bolts with inch spec in usa, or is that just uncommon?

:update: could you get a hold of a bolt with a regular hex head, put a washer under and get a machine shop to make a "countersinc washer"

A bit far away from you but usually this kind of stuff is standard issue in Canada. I can call on the industrial supply store on Monday. What material/finish specs; stainless, black oxide, zinc? How many do you need?

It took me a while to find. It's actually for a marine application. All the dimensions are the same except for the length, but aparently that is not an issue.

And to George at buddy club: Grrrrrrr......

Let's see what you can come up with.

We worry you because a single bolt seems so elusive? If so, then find it. Think outside the hype, eh? Us ITR guys would never think to check a site that specializes in metric size fasteners or out of country.

So you tell us to "think outside the hype," and suggest a site not knowing if they do or do not have the particular bolt (which, in fact, they do not)? You were given the schematics of the bolt. It would have taken you no more than 1 minute of your time to check to see if they have it or not. To make such suggestions that we can not think outside the hype, and to post a website that you have no idea if they do or do not supply the part in question, is absurd.

This particular bolt is for a buddyclub suspension system, and even buddyclub is not able to provide the bolt. I have found a bolt that meets the necessary criteria, and is for a marine application. How is that not thinking "outside the hype?"

This is a metric flat head cap screw but in fine thread. Unfortunately it's not in stock at the local Brafasco (fastener store). It can be ordered in but the whole box must be taken since they don't want to stock this size. It would be black oxide finish.

I have no idea how you would be able to check the parts catalog, but that looks a lot like a newer Volvo bolt. Except the Volvo version would probably have a Torx head on it.

Seriously. I'm scratching my head at "Ekasey"s comment.

hey bud i went today and they have the exact bolt except length is at 25mm instead of 30mm

but they can custom cut you a bolt in the exact measurements you want. i gave them the bolt diagram so they are just waiting for you to call to see if you want them to make it for you...

talk to Henry Ayon at 1-800-800-6696 place is called Metric Specialties in Burbank. http://www.metricspecialties.com/

like i said they had like 4-5 bolts already there everything the same except a 25mm bolt length.

not sure if you have a place nearer you that does custom cut bolts or not but there you go...
