My friend in California has a Prelude with a F22B engine. He's currently in Iraq protecting our freedom, while his wife was the one who got pulled over.

what can he do to legally register the engine?

what's is a BAR referee?

 

Californ requires that all engine changeouts be instpected to meet state code basically. Anytime you have the engine changed out you are supposed to go to a state referee station and they will inspect the car to make sure all emissions systems are intact and working etc. once the referee gives the ok on it, it becomes a street legal car, and it can be smogged at a normal smog check station.

 

yeah the big thing to make sure it passes, is make sure u have all the requirments that it would need to pass an emissions test...there was an article about this in a magazine i read...and i dont think that u can be there while they the ref checks it out, so u cant do any explaining....

 

So what he popped the hood and looked. They can do that to you guys in Cali???

 

yeah, the officer popped the hood, took pictures and later on told them that it was illegal, and the engine and intake were illegal.

 

just goes to show you that ignorance is not a good defense.

damn that blows. she has no choice now but to go get the legality of it fixed then show up to court with the papers saying that it passed. good luck with her

Is it possible to dismiss the ticket if they drove the car to houston, texas and got it registered?

What would be the best thing to do to solve this situation?

can they prove residency with their Tx drivers license and so on?

lol, they'ew fightin for the country is one thing, ur breakin the law in the state is another thing, cant be related.....

but hey if ur friend is a wife of a soilder, shouldnt she have the military id??? she shouldve show that ID and im sure the cop gonna let her go no question ask (most cases i heard) ...but yea, what is the car register right now, if it in CA, damn just go get it check, all they all is tell you what you need if you missing somethin...that way it much easier instead of sittin here asking wat to do and stuff...
