Synthetic Oil Question
Lets say when i buy a car, the car has just been putting regular non synthetic oil, would it be a smart thing for me to just put synthetic oil in it since oil changes are every 5k and its better for the motor im talking about a 2000 Honda Civic. I just wanna be the best owner to the car, doesnt matter synthetic is couple dollars more when it comes to car care, So would it be ok to put synthetic after draining the regualar oil obviously.
Im a noob to synthetic oil can u also let me know if theres any diffrence to be seen driving with sythetic oil, beside it being good for the motor

yea synthetic oil would be better to use when getting a newer car from the start or when has higher mileage helps with oil consumption also like 1-2hp gain but it cant hurt..it will only help ur motor, just use the weight ur car says but in synthetic
lol....
if you buy a car new, run regular conventional oil of the right wieght, until the engine breaks in, they ar eless slippery and will help the rings seat easier, after a break in period, use a synthetic, since they reduce friction and last a bit longer than regular oils, nor do they gum up when the oil gets old. using synthetic on an older motor can cause problems, because the deposits from the oil build up in area which would have leaked if they werent there, synthetics eat up deposits, and can develop a leak. and 5k miles is a bit long for an oil change interval, 3000 miles change it. the best rule 3000 miles or 3 months whichever is first, hasnt failed me yet, never had an oil problem.
