Default CODE 9:cylinder position sensor.................is my dist.BAD?

my car throws a code 9 which is CYP,will i have to replace the distributor housing in order for my car to run right or is there some way else i could take to clear this problem...............................LMK!

Well I don't show any code 9 anywhere, don't know how you came up with that. However, there are two different CYP codes.

P1381 Intermitant interruption

P1382 No Signal

Most likely likely the distributor, but many things are possible.
