06 si or used wrx dillema
im from socal so trying to get an si is ridiculous. were i live in temecula its 3000 over the msrp and i ask almost every 3 weeks to a month when its gonna go down and they say as soon as idiots stop buying them for this price. i have quotes from my insurance and the si and wrx are exact prices for my policy. the wrx holds more power, the si is just what i want tho man. i want those high revs. im a honda guy. always. so i duno if i wanna cros the barrier of turbocharged vehicles.
04 wrx for 19000 vs the 06 si (if i wait about 4 months im sure it will go down) especially with the release of the sedan si.

we just bought a 06 civic and a 06 wrx 2.5l
Honestly, i rather drive the wrx all day long over the civic.
we got the wrx for 22,900 and the civic for 20k otd. I know the civic isn't the si but we traded in a 03 rsx type-s for the wrx. wrx ftw

big difference between a civic ex and the si? vtec,dohc,6spd,lsd,interior,exterior. but ya i do know the wrx is a fun ride my friend had one. reliability tho? i know i could rev that si all day without any difficulties.
i know there is a big difference between the si and the ex, But the RSX-S just about the same if not better than the SI. I've owned a gsr/rsx-s so i know how a high reving honda feels like. This is my first AWD turbo car and i will never drive a FW/RW drive cars again, if i had a choice. just my 2 cents.
wrx is nice, but it wont last as long as an si will. and ur trade in further down the road will be much more with an si. they will retain their value a lot longer. the price wont go down on them for a long time. they are releasing the 4 door si because the market is slim pickings right now for 2 doors. the rsx is dead next year, and 4 doors are just becoming more popular. u can get an si for msrp if u put down a deposit and build it at honda.com with the package u wish to have. if not, call a dealer outside of socal and it will be cheaper. i got mine for under msrp in memphis. food for thought. honda>subaru

AWD >> FWD. I wouldn't get an 04 WRX tho. (2.0L) Right now you can probably get an 06 (2.5L WRX) TR version for 23K. Or if you can find a used 06 that would be close to price on a new Si. Go drive them both.
You will know which one you want then for sure
PS how long will you really keep your car? Most young guys don't keep their cars for 10 yeras. I wouldn't worry about it breaking down unless you abuse each car.

at least 5-7 years i just graduated highschool. looking for a stable car to get me to college and after that having the job for a whlie to pay off school debts.
The WRX trannies are like glass and with reasonable mods youll go through one quickly
The Si is a different type of car ---- with bolt-ons its a high 13's car naturally aspirated with good gas mileage
The WRX has more torque and is easier to drive in city traffic but on tarmac I would take the civic over the WRX --- the Si will be easier to push hard
In the end it will be personal preference --- I ended up with an 06 350Z track instead of an STI/EVO ---- I know the modding ease of the factory boosted cars but when you get behind the wheel each offers a different driving dynamic
A boosted Z vs A boosted STI = Z FTW for me

if you are getting a car to drive to college and back though, u might wanna get something else. i dont know about anyone elses schools, but mine sucked when it came to parking and the safety of ur car doors. i got dings and **** all the time. and the si paint seems to be extremely thin.

Only if you beat the **** out of it and launch like a ricer at 6k+ RPM all the time, dropping the clutch.

Not to mention the 06+ trannies are a hell of a lot more durable now...
06' TR + stage 2 = low 13's all day. WRX ftw
