Prelude stalling
alright heres the jist of things..
I'm driving on the high way and it stalls while im in gear..
I'm at a red light and it stalls...
Upon stalling, i sit in the car and try to restart and it does but dies instantly....
If i stay in the car for a good minute and start it up after waiting, it turns over and idles normally....
any idea's? anyone ever have this problem?
i have a 98 base prelude with an h22a swap

Has the ignition recall been done on your lude? It sounds like that might be the culprit. The simptoms you are having are pretty close to what honda.com says what could go wrong. If you are unsure if the recall has been done just go to honda.com and click on owner's link and sign up (if you havn't already). You will need your VIN to see if the recall has been done or not.
nice... there is a recall on my year prelude.. and the honda dealerships stated that there is not on my year prelude. BAHM bitches were WRONG YO.
now i just hope this is my problem... are you saying that these symptoms that i am having are the same as the recall in stating, because i cannot find where the symptoms would be if my ingnition switch was going bad... it turns over but it doesnt stay on.. maybe my fuel pump or filter you think?
What is the reason for this notice?
Honda Motor Co., Ltd., has determined that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in the ignition switch on certain 1997 thru 2000 Honda automobiles. Electrical contacts in the ignition switch can wear prematurely due to high electrical current passing through the switch. Worn out ignition contacts could cause the engine to stall without warning. Although the engine will restart in most cases, if your engine stalls while driving in traffic or at highway speeds, you're at risk of being involved in a crash. Difficulties starting the engine (for example, hard-to-start, stalls immediately after starting, etc.) may indicate that the ignition switch is failing.
scratch that i found it ___

I'm not 100% sure, but my car had a radiator leak and it caused the temp to go up all the way and the car stalled when I downshifted and turned corners, stopped at red lights, stop signs, etc. and sometimes just normal driving, whats ur engine temp??(hopefully not bad b/c I drove it like that and i blew a couple piston rings and my headgasket was destroyed from a backup of collant

just go and get a new ignition lock its like 200 bucks, i was having the same issue and i replaced it and now the car hasnt stalled out once on me. it will only get worse trust me it got to the point where it wouldnt start at all and i was stranded.
honda will replace in full so i will not have to pay a penny.. i called up honda and they stated because my vin qualifies that i will be fine for the labor chard and the part itself... i did check for codes at my autozone/advanced auto and it did not output any codes at all
i mean right? i mean my friends work at this honda dealership so if they catch it ill be like help me out here.. i mean no matter what they dont get the vcash from me they get paid from honda themselves./.. so they will get paid no matter what.. plus its the cars vin so it works.. **** ill scratch out my vin on my motor if needed
i see, i should be fine with the problem.. i mean because of my motor swap should not effect a defect expecially if honda themselves said it.. it would void any warranties tho... but not recalls YO
freaking m out haha
