Best way to clean a header(inside and out?)

what can i do/get to clean a header that has been ran for about a year?

Ive seen someone get theirs sandblasted and it looked sweet

Not sure of how safe this is though

Contact Mike K on this, as I think I remember him having a good plan for "reconditioning" headers.
