Default short anywhere?

ok, im lost. i have a 92 coupe, and i have my city lights, side markers, and jdm foglights wired up on the parking lights(1 click on the switch) and i know that chances are that i am probably overloading the circuit and this is causing the fuse to blow, but the thing that gets me, is that it doesnt blow all the time, only sometimes, and usually when its running. now that i mentioned it to my firend, he says he remembers there being two wires that didnt hook to anything that were spliced coming from the left liscense plate light, and he said he thinks they went to the right one, but wasnt sure. could this be causing the short that makes my lights go out? and if i fix this, and there is no other short, but its still overloading, could i use a 15amp fuse instead of a 10?

you can't use a fuse thats rated for a higher amperage, in electronics you can use fuses with a lower amperage. A higher amperage fuse will burn up your circuit.

As far as your lights going out and the fuse blowing, make sure there aren't any bare wires touching the chassis causing it to short out.

yes if you up your fuse amperage, you will end up destroying the circuit components and possibly other relays/fuses....just double check your wiring and if they are good try hooking up a new switch(jdm foglight switch) anything will do really; for your lights so you aren't overloading the parking light switch

I hope that you are running the fog lights off of a relay otherwise you are running to much current through the switch and it will fail and cause you all sorts of headaches
