alright... well i've been kinda beating the car a bit recently... and tonight in the pooring rain i was trying to get up this hill... but my tires started to spin so i stupid shifted up a gear... but no luck... then the car just stopped and started rolling backwards... but the rpms were still going and there was a horrrrible smell.... i called up my friend who's been driving MT's for years and he eventually got it moving in 5th gear 10 feet to get it out of the street...

someone has prob been in the situation before... so if u konw whats wrong... please tell... thanks

What year is your Accord? Does the shifter feel sloppy, how does the clutch pedal feel? Does it feel like normal, more firm, or loose? There are a good few possibilities out there...

2006

well when it was in neutral i couldn't shift it into any gears.... it was stuck in the middle... but then after a while..... i was able to shift it through the gears again, but you didn't need the clutch to move it...

the only way we got it moving was in 5th gear... and that took a looong time to get it rolling

Sounds like you fried the clutch & possibly broke the fork & shattered the thow-out bearing... thats what happened to me. Your not going to know untill you take it to a tranny shop.

2006 accord? How bout you take it to a dealer and get it done under warranty? Or would that be considered abuse and not covered by the warranty?

lets see here, just got a new car and toasted the clutch by driving aggressively? SUCKS TO BE YOU. Honda manuals are very reliable and so are their clutches. Expect to pay about $1200 to fix it if you do not do it yourself....dealer is going to KNOW it was abuse when they physically inspect it and will DENY warranty service......

In thailand, we should go to the dealer who sold the car and claim them about this problem (depend on your guarantee)

ha, told ya so, Intense 2.2L...

no way in honda heaven are they going to let him slide w/ abuse... + isn't the clutch a wear item like brake pads? now, if it was something w/in the tranny case that blew up, then it would be covered by the warranty.

thanx for the update, skater...

if you capable. do the job yourslelf. you'll probably only end up spending about $1000(depending on which brand parts/tires you go with) and maybe about 1-3 days of work depending how experianced and how many hours you work on it a day

when my 94 went out, i got oem. if you're not going to upgrade to massive amounts of horsepower, then i wouldnt upgrade. but that's my opinion.

how did you burn up a 1 year old clutch that bad?
