With an NA car, the more fuel you can cram into the motor, along with the air thats coming in by whatever source, with a decent tune, will yield more power.

But you also have to be able to provide the spark and ingition timing to accomodate that extra fuel.

Its just like with a Turb's or SC'd application, its a fine line between lean, just right, and rich.

If you can hit it just right, the possibilities on an NA motor are pretty much endless.

Said very well. I am sure that if you look closer at those swaps there are alot more mods than just fuel. There could be cams and valve work. You never know what is on the inside.

The DIS systems on todays modern cars are suprisingly performance oriented.

Pros: No loss of power from the coil to the cap, cap to rotor, and rotor to wires, and then to the spark plugs. Each plug has its own coil, with its own power.

Cons: Not too many aftermarket upgrades for it other than a few Ignition Boxes that boost the amount of spark and type of spark pattern.

Its all electronically controlled, so you have finer tuning of the spark curves, rather than doing it all by hand. (IE. Cam gears and dist. cap clocking)

The reason people upgrade the fuel system in kseries swapped cars I.E. ek,eg,dc,ef etc. is because the fuel system on stock kseries motors are returnless. THERE IS NO FUEL RETURN LINE > > > > > > In that, you need a fuel rail to convert to a fuel return line as well as lines (hence stainless lines). FPR will allow quick adjustments when dyno'ing or the road side "butt dyno" Although Red_EM2 is right, he is speaking in glimmering generalities about adding fuel. As for the DIS system, there is no need to upgrade it when it is perfect to begine with.

We have a winner! Matticus is correct, the DC5/EP3/FG, etc have a returnless style fuel system, whereas the EG/EK/DC2's require the fuel return line. The FPR is to make sure you run the approximate amount of pressure the K-series requires(about 51psi).
