SCCA T2/ITE
ok, i have a couple questions. i have an USDM integra type R with a japanese spec front end. with this modification will this pull me out of T2 in SCCA? If so then the ITE class is my only choice. our cars seems to be way under powered in this class. any suggestions? it is, in no way giving me any performance enhancement with my costmetic modification.
hopefully you guys can help... thanks

JDM frontend does indeed knock you out of T2. T2 rules are very specific.
It wouldn't be legal for ITE either since ITE means you have to meet some pro series rules, like World Challenge or Grand Am cup.

hmmm... but i my friend was running in ITE last year. he had a japanese front end as well. is there a difference between regions and rules?
so there is no way i can stay in T2, unless i take off the front end?
thx for such a quick reply warren

T2 is the evolution of the former higher-level SS classes. Showroom stock doesn't allow body work changes period. Updating/backdating doesn't apply since this wasn't a US delivered part/option. Should be in the first page or two of the Touring Category Specifications.
ITE does vary greatly from region to region. My home region SFR/#33 just changed its rules this last year to get into alignment with the majority of the other regions. Ex: we had PE (prepared endurance) for former Pro cars and ITE was something else completely, since we never had ITE (until recently). Now PE becomes ITE and old ITE becomes ITX.
Your best bet is to check with the local region's office and request the Supplemental Regulations or whatever covers the ITE class.

Before you bail on the idea, get in touch with the region in which you would be racing and find out what their particular ITE rules are. You might well be OK to run the car in its current configuration...
