Quick Is this my VSS?
My ECU is throwing a Code 17, VSS, and yesterday my speedometer stopped working. Is this what I need to replace?

Resize your pictures...That looks like the speedo cable that plugs into the back of the gauge cluster...the acctually vss is mounted in the tranny...follow that cable out the fire wall and if shold lead you right to it, or look under you intake mani on the top of thtranny you should see it, right above the diff

I was about to go buy a new one from Honda for $35, so I was making sure that this will fix my problem before I buy it.
Edit: I tested the Speedo Cable and it works fine. Now since my ECU says my VSS is bad do I need to replace it, I was able to move it around a little bit, is it loose or is this normal?

Could be your speedo itself, I think mine is going out intermittenly cause I just threw a code 17 last week but it has not come back on yet and I know my cable and VSS are ok.

This is what sends the pulse to the ecu:

Check and make sure these connections are tight:

In my case,the speedometer worked,
but it continued to throw the code..
I eventually replaced the instrument cluster and it went away..

the speedo is mechanically driven and can work with the VSS not working. your best bet if the cable is good is to replace the cluster. i believe the two items youre pointing at in that last image are the light bulbs for the cluster illumination
