ok we just finished an ls vtec for a 88 hatch. nice built

intake manifold
stage 2 cams
cam gears
springs and retainers

ITR pistons

now it idles at 4000! there are no vaccum hose hooked up but there no places for them onthe tb and intake man, what do we do. its not tuned yet but we can't get the idle down blow 2000! even when its warm.

pleaseeee help!

ya the head gasket is leaking on the exhaust side just below the dizzy. oil tho. but were not burning oil and coolant isn't mixing with oil either its a golden eagle head gasket. so u think replace head gasket.

i said im gasket not head gasket...have u tried adjusting the throttle cable...mayb ur tps is fizucked

did you plug the original oil feed hole on the bottom of the head?

 

ya its pluged we fixed the idle at least it down to 900 thanks we still have a head gasket to replace

so what was wrong with it?

 

combo of the throttle cable being alittle tight, and the tps change and throttle plate adjusted.

the best throttle response i have ever seen.just tough the gas and it spikes. but were using a vafc for the vtec and running a ls ecu so we still need to fix the feul because it seems that the vtec is just bearly pulling when it kicks in we never messed with a VAFC so it will take some time to figure it out. going to the dyno in 2 weeks and we'll see what numbers we can push. hoping for 220+hp all motor.
