Default Need help picking exhaust

Recently purchased 06 zx-6r put about 700m on it and its now time to upgrade the exhaust. im looking for a full exhuast system and perferably an exhaust that will increase power and have a nice deep loud sound. now this is my first street bike and i am not used to any brand names on the street and was wondering who would carry an exhaust that fits the set up im looking for (increase in hp, deep sound, and loud)

thanks for you input

Arata?
Akrapovic?
Arrow?
Leo Vince?
Yoshimura?
Jardine?

I put question marks there because i'm not sure if every brand makes a slip-on for your bike.

The power you feel from a sleep on will be minimal. If you really want to feel a difference, re-gear your bike. If you just want to improve exhaust flow and maybe pick up a few ponies, do a full system and a power commander.
Most slip-ons (except for micron maybe) are going to be loud, with D&D probably being the loudest (nastiest). As for a deep sound? It's an inline-4 i'm not sure how deep you're going to get. Yoshimura is a pretty middle-of-the-way slip-on in terms of sound. It's loud, but not too loud, and usually sounds deepish in the lower RPMs.

Try jumping on a kawasaki board and seeing what people are using.

you should upgrade the bike instead

loud = d&d
increase in hp = micron/2 bros/FMF

There are a million types of exhaust as slvrblackredrc51 said....pick the one that looks the coolest and buy it....your not going to get DEEP sounds on an inline4, your going to have to buy a vtwin to get that. the more expensive the exhaust generally the better it sounds, hence D&D sounds like ****, sato and akra and moriakai (SP) sound the best.

I guess "exhaust" threads are the new "what bike" thread?

I spose all those people that asked what bike to get now need pipes.

Nothing comes between me and premium TP... not new toys, eating or alcohol.

Don't abuse your cornhole with cheap paper gentlemen, you will regret it.

D&D on the ZX6R isn't too bad because of the design, it's a twin can so it's not as loud, it's actually really deep. We made some awsome power with it too. It also has alot to do with how much $$$$ your looking at spending. Doing a full system is NOT going to increase the power much more than .5 or 1hp more than a slip on and may only weigh about 1-3lbs less than the stock header. and your looking at paying upwards of $1000. Just go for a good slip on (I.E. Not yoshimura or M4) and go -1 with the front sprocket.

the best slip on's power wise
Akropovic
Arrow
D&D
Jardine

just FYI I work for D&D so pm me and i'll give you a price.

Also, I know D&D has gotten a bad rep from how loud they are, Thats all changed no, i'm not jacking the thread to say waht i've said 10x over, check our website in a few days for the up date. http://www.danddexhaust.com

Spend your money on a track day. That will make you faster than any exhaust ever will

I just use a strap of leather cut from an old set of Vanson leathers.
