Default OT. maryland inspection

im posting this in here because i trust you guys and need some honest help.

a friend of mine moved to maryland and needs to get her car inspected, from what i understand its a one time inspection. the first place she went to said she needed front brakes and rotors and a tag light(over her licence plate) the bill with parts and labor was $903.xx, which i thought was a little on the outragous side.

so she drove back up to me i fixed her car, she took it back to the shop and now they are saying it needs all upper and lower ball joints in the front, wiper blades and a front end alignment total bill $1460.75.

i personally feel they are just trying to make money on her for this one time inspection deal, the car is a bone stock 2000 integra ls.

what i want to know is if any of you guys know of a reputable trustworthy shop in the silver springs area that will take car of her? i dont mean turn a blind eye, if theres something wrong, especially something that could effect her safety then it needs fixed im just looking for a place that wont rip her off with these "problems" which what it seems she keeps running into.

they gave her 1 month or 1000 miles to get this all fixed.

Criswell Honda is very good. I take my ITR there over the Acura deal down the street. Very trustworthy in my experience

Edit: I would ask them to look over the car, if it looks good ask for a MD inspection.

From prior dealings with them, Criswell Honda can blow me.

To the OP - there's an independant Maryland safety inspection station just down the street from Criswell (can't remember the name offhand) that I've used twice. Excellent turnaround time, no bs. Lemme go dig up the name.

not surprising for Silver Spring

go to Rockville (maybe?)...I'm up in Annapolis and most of the shops (ie gas stations) are very reputable. Most Shell Gas Stations with shops will inspect, etc.

I always had good luck with O'Donnell Honda. Best prices of all the Honda/Acura dealers for service work.

$900 parts and labor for brakes and a light.....

I can do the fronts on the R for about $150-200 depending on what kind of pads and fluid I choose! Thats outrageos Labor fees. It only takes 1.5 hours or so
