Default another shift linkage question

ok so i have a B20 with a B16 tranny and a GSR linkage, and it wont go into reverse and 5th, i checked on my friends car who has a B16 tranny also and his has a bushing looking thing on the shaft coming out of the tranny, and my shift lever has a lot of play in it, u can do a full circle jsut moving it around...can i get a bushing for the shaft or something so it wont have play and it can go into the gears?

Change all the bottom bushings of your shift lever(the one going into the car). Replace the entire linkage that connects to that lever. Get a new pin that locks this linkage to the tranny. You will be good to go then.

thanks for the input....all those bushing u mentioned are good, but i saw that on the tranny itself theres like a little rod coming out where the linake goes to, and it has a hole to put the pin in, well i checked on my buddies LS tranny and on his, theres a bushing on that rod, mine doesnt have that, could that be wahts causing the problem? if so, can i buy that bushing and put it on?
