Default Which set up....koni's or D2's

I have been looking into suspension for some time know and im wondering which set would be better. The car is a 94 honda civic coupe. The car will be a street/strip car and for weekend trashing. SO i was woundering would the koni race shocks,Gc coilovers with top hats be a better choice over a set-up like D2's or ksports. I have heard about the problems with both systmes but over all which one is better for all around street and track..

What problems have you heard with Koni/GC? I have never heard anything but praise for this setup.

I have heard of the top hats breaking. But i have seen a Ground control coil snap in two....But i think that was because the kid had the car lower way to much....but what can i gain for either set-up

the koni setup is going to be much more capable on track. but the "race" valving is going to be less comfortable on the street. Also, with the race valving you'll want to run fairly high spring rates to get the most out of them and avoid being overdamped.

The koni setup will perform better, and be more flexible from a performance standpoint, but depending on the spring rates and road conditions, may not be feasible on the street.

I have the top-hats, no issues.

I did break a spring, but it was from a bad batch of wire and all 4 springs were replaced for FREE from Eibach.

yeah, that's one of the major plusses about a koni/GC setup. not only are they great performers, but you get to deal with outstanding customer service from eibach and koni.

Ground Control customer service isn't A+++, but it's not terrible either. once you get them on the phone, they're great--they're just so busy it's hard to get a hold of them sometimes.

either way, koni/GC =

GC & Koni products have lifetime warranties (except Koni race shocks). Both companies stand behind their products & you KNOW they will take care of you if you have any problems. In fact, both Koni & Eibach have reps on H-T to answere related questions & help with problems. Quality stuff & quality people... What more could you ask for....

...Oh yeah, performance. They got that too.

The race shocks are shortened, and have much stiffer valving. No warranty either...

Koni/GC's are a great set up. My buddy has them on his ITR and loves 'em.

Before I had Tokico's with GC's, then I had Omnipower Sports and liked 'em all.

I personally went with D2's with 22kg front/18kg rear. I wouldn't really recommend those spring rates on the road, but personally, it's very tolerable for me.
