Default Costco Cordless Impact (edit: I bought one!)

Was @ Costco today. They have two kinds.

Kawasaki 24V 1/2". Big thing. Looks strong. I think it's rated @ 250 ft-lbs.
$75. Comes with 4 impact sockets and a short extension. Name is licensed
for use. But AllTrade tools is importing/distributing these. I charged it up
quick, and it loosened my lugs that were torqued to 80 ft-lbs with a moment or
two of holding down the button.

Some other "brand". 14.4V think it's 1/2" too. Its compact size. Rated @
~1440 inch-lbs. $100. Comes with an attachment kit. Look well built and seemed
strong for a compact. Don't know if I trust it to remove a lugnut but it is Costco
and should be returnable.

Got me the Kawasaki today! woot.

I'll be curious to hear how that works out. I recently bought a DeWalt unit that is rated at 220 ft-lbs for much more. Does it come with a battery (or two)? I'm just trying to figure out why it's so much cheaper than other brands.

seen that thing for about 4 months, seems to be very popular and if its not up to your standards you can always return it no questions asked. gotta love the return policy.

Don't bother with that one. 144 in-lbs = 12 ft-lbs. That's barely enough to take off a valve cover nut .. you can forget a lugnut or anything else worthwhile.

The Kawi might be a decent deal though if it really does what it says it does. I've wondered in the past how they do those ratings though. For instance, the new 220 ft-lb HF cordless impact is way less powerful than my old 220 ft-lb cordless of the same brand and same specs.
