Break in time for new Civic (question)

Default Break in time for new Civic (question)

I'm a new car owner so what should i do with my new car ?? drive it slowly for first 1000 miles ??

According to the master tech at my dealership, push it as hard as you want , when you want, but dont beat the **** out of it constantly. You dont need to baby it everywhere..

Make damn sure you leave the oil that came in the car for 5,000 miles... Honda is one of the few companies who uses a specific break-in oil that needs to remain in the motor for the full 5K miles..

I got rid of the breakin oil at around 2500 miles, anything I should worry about or do?

I really believe that the engineers do know more about it than us :D
So just follow the manual = 200 miles = BREAKS
600 miles = ENGINE ..
just take it easy, avoid VTEC
and you'll get 100k miles more :D for sure..

I wouldnt be super concerned, I dont see it adversley effecting anything but always remember to follow the engine oil life % displayed in the minder.... no point in changing it early, break-in oil or not
