intermitent hessitation when accelerating
hey guys wanted to get ur thoughts on this problem......
i would say about 60% of the time as i'm accelerating (its most obvious in first and second, but happens in all 6 gears) there will be a brief loss of power, as if i let off the throttle and then got back on it really quick.
my first thought was bad/ cheap gas....but i've tried every brand of gas out there and still the same result (i allways use super)
whats really throwing me is that it doesnt happen all the time as i said. (40% of the time it runs great, pulls hard)
as a side note* when i purchased the bike the guy "said" he took it to a shop and had a full tune up/ oil change done to the bike 200 miles b/f i bought it (meaning it would be about 1500 miles since the tune up)
another thought* the bike fell over while in my back yard and was laying completely on its side..... could that have something to do with it?
any thoughts would be apreciated.......
thanks

Has the bike been jetted?
What mods?
Do you notice the bogging occuring at a certain RPM? My YZF seems to loose power around 9K or so but I think an exhaust leak or improper jetting has something to do with it.

bike is bone stock.....(unless flushmounts have something to do with it
)
there really is no pattern to it.....fresh gas, bottom of the tank.... doesnt matter......seems to happen mostly around 5-7 k's 9-11 k's rpm.....but sometimes it will be lagy from the time i start out all the way till like 9 grand......very random occurances

Next time try working the throttle position... see if it happens More when you WOT as opposed to rolling the throttle on linearly

i was out for about a half hour tonight.....
i think it happens more often when i roll on the throttle.....thats when i get the lag all the way up to 9k rpm......but when i jump on it is when i get the stuter/hesitation as i accelrate

Go through the YZF site and look for an OEM of similarly modded bikes Dyno sheet, see if it duplicates your issues. if so it could be a characteristic of your bike, it really is hard to diagnose this from a thousand Miles away. At any rate it never hurts to syn the carbs, check for proper jetting, look for pinched breather tubes, and look for leaky intake boots. Also a faultering coil/wires can cause this also

I dont think it's a thundercat characteristic cause my bike doesn't do it, unless mine was the only one with the lack of that characteristic, lol.
so i went through pages of posts and threads on the yzf600r.com website that UNDER PRESSURE posted.......from what i've read on there it seems like cleaning and snycing the carbs is the best place to start...... thanks all for the help
this has to happen when the boss askes me to work the entire weekend on this special project! boo 7 day work weeks!
