so this has been happening just about midnight last night, and its been doin this alot today...i turn the ignition on but i have to keep doing it about 4 or 5 times until it will turn on, and theres always a clicking noise so i know its not the battery, so what can it be?....this was happening to me about 6 months ago but only a few times, and it went away...what can it be?

 

Starter solenoid? Does it only happen when the car is hot?

 

Same thing is happening to my car right now. I'm taking it to the shop soon to get it fixed, but i don't know whats wrong with it. I'll let you know when i find out.

 

Have them diagnose it, then replace it yourself and save some $$$. Probably is the starter.

 

Anyone else know whats wrong?

well its not doing it anymore...hmm just noticed that it happened exactly when i put a gallon of toluene...

 

I doubt the toluene had anything to do with it. Although unless running higher compression it probally hurts your fuel mileage. (for sake of arguement less BTUs (british thermal units, measures energy) per gallon of gas the higher the octane)

 

The same thing is happenin to me. It happens on cold starts. It started after I put loow quality gas in it. Doubt it's related, but it started after that
