alright heres the story. i have a 1993 civic HB CX it time for the swap. im almost done biulding the motor but im having trouble figuring out the wiring. i have a 96 B18 GSR block with P72 pistons. i have a 89 JDM teg is (i think) b16 head with S2 cams, now since all the OBD's are switched around what would be the best way to wire this motor with my car, im running out of cash too so i want to get it chipped later. i also have the JDM ECU from the engine that came with the head which i think is a P0 or somthing like that. i also have the 89 stock IM and FI system what should i do with those?
your help is greatly appriceated.

PS: here are pics of the 89 ecu if you can tell me what it is.

 

PW0? looks like a OBD0 B16 ECU out of a integra XSi i think?

you are gonna need a whole lot more to get it into your civic. you need intake manifold, dizzy, alternator, tranny, sarter, clutch, axles, intermediate/half shaft, shift linkage, mounts, ecu. for the wiring, just use a 92-95 civic ex/si harness and extend some of the plugs

 

i have all that stuff i just need to know what i should do about the wiring

I think it is. But i have the full XSi swap. Trann and every thing. My ecu is a PR3. Peice of ****. But anyways mine has 3 inlets for the wiring harness. But ive heard that sum xsi ecu's had 2 inlets im not sure.

 

Wait nvm the PW0 is from a JDM Civic/CRX SiR. ANd the PR3 is from the xsi.

If you convert to obd1, then you'll need an obd1 distributor also.
If your strapped for cash, you could still use the obd0 intake manifold and injectors, but you'll have to wire in a resistor box. If you use obd1 injectors, then forget about the resistor.

Just reuse your stock harness. Fit it to the motor. You will need to run wires for vtec solenoid, vtec pressure switch, and knock sensor(unless you run a p28).
You will also need to wire up the 4 wire o2 sensor.

If you want to convert to obd0, you need to use an obd0 distributor.
You'll also need a obd1-obd0 jumper harness so you can plug in your obd0 ecu.
Reuse your stock harness and fit it to the motor. This will include changing the plugs for distirbutor, injectors, and wiring up the resistor box.
You wont need to wire up the 4 wire o2, because obd0 uses a 1 wire(which is what your cx uses).

 

If you have a 93 civic then it is already obd1 you would be better off getting a chipped P28, then you won't need knock sensor. You can get one with a strong base map and hondata ready for 150.00 plus shipping. Call this guy.

You can get a 92-95 ex/si wiring harness good shape around 130.00.
You will need to wire your car up for a 4-wire O2 sensor like dude said.

Your 96 block will be setup for obd2 so you may need to switch a few things.
An obd0 head will need an external map sensor like on the 88-91 setups. If you need one I have an extra.

You will need an obd1 dizzy but alternator and starter should work. The alts on obd0 and obd1 have same plugs. obd2 have a square plug and won't work.
Starters should all work.

Injectors would be better off get obd1 so you don't have to worry about an injector resistor. Thats what I did.
That is about all I can think of right now.

 

so tell me if this would work. i can use my PW0 ECU that i have with a jumper harness to connect it to my stock harness. then i wire up V-tec. i dont have to change any wires on my o2 sensor and i also wont have to change my OBD0 dizzy IM or injectors correct?

 

If you stay OBD0 then you will need 2 Oxygen sensors. OBD1 only requires one.
If you were ever to get stopped and have an OBD0 engine setup in an OBD1 equipped car you would get in trouble.
And that would most likely bring heat down on your "connection" for passing this car.

Your future tuning options would be greater with obd1 setup.

plus then you would have to worry about knock sensor as with obd1 you don't need it.
