Default Another R Stolen (San Jose)

Those in the San Jose area be on the look out for my car. It's a 98 itr license plate 4RFU552. There's a chip in the hood covered with touchup paint. A chip in the rear bumper to the left of the license plate. There is a long scratch just above the rear quarter panel maybe about 2 feet long. There are also paint chips on the side mirrors. It has it's mud guards on and it hasn't been washed in months. Please be on the look out for my car. It has been missing since last night. I only found it out this morning when my brother in law asked me where my car was.

EDIT:: For those looking out for it. Right next to the antenna there is one of those XM antennas. It looks like a small little block with a wire going into the trunk.

Well to answer that question and say what you must. I didn't have any security on it besides lojack and an autoloc. I've had the car for 3 years and i was planning on getting better security, but as time passed i didn't feel a need for it. Like people said before, if they want to take it...then they'll take it.

Nothing from them...

Well I better start gathering those ads for the insurance company... If anyone who has been through this process can explain to me on how to get the most from my insurance, I would really appreciate it.

if im not mistaken, but boomerang bought out lojack a while back and should be a lot better when trying to find ur car. What is lojack telling you??? are they getting a signal from ur car or not? if they are, then they should have found it already.

as for insurance purposes, gather all receipts u have for the car, and show proof that u have been keeping up with maintance of the car and that it was in good condition. Also, gather autotrader adds of other type R that have a high listing price to show them that ur car is still worth some coin. Lastly, my uncle is a lawyer, and he told me what to do when my gsr got stolen and it worked for me and for his car when it got totaled. Just be nice at first and see what $ they quote you, but never accept it and keep fighting for more. The longer u stall and ask for more, the more they will give u to make u happy so that they can close the case and move on.

Oh, and dont forget to say u had a leather jacket and a laptop in the car believe me it works

good luck

Well probably the front is washed because i made an attempt to wash it, but then i had to go do something so i didn't finish washing it.

Well just a couple minutes ago the police called saying they may have found it. I'm really hoping that it is mine. If it's not, then I'm still glad that they found someone else's stolen R.

Well...the officer called back asking what time yesterday was the last time I saw it. I told him then he said that he needed to sort something out and that he will call me back later...then that was the end of the call. I don't know what he means by having to sort something out...but something's telling me that i'm not going to be getting my car back.

Damn that sucks man, my itr was stolen just a couple of months ago not to far from San Jose (20 miles north) so I know what your going throw. My experience with the insurance company was kind of good besides the fact that it took almost 8 weeks for them to pay me for the car and the biggest reason was the police report which I ended up getting my self. Insurance actually paid me more for my ITR than what I paid for it 6 months earlier when I bought it and I didn’t even get that good of a deal when I bought it. All I can say is good luck and don’t trust anything the insurance tells you because 50% us BS

Okay, so I got a call back. They found it, they said something seems to be wrong with it besides the ignition. Now I have to head on down to Oakland to pick it up. I'll let you guys know the damage after i pick it up.

pm me if you are able to keep the car (dependent on insurance) and you decide you want to keep it safe this next time around.

"If you fail to plan, you can plan to fail" this was embedded into my brain through my 28 weeks of the sheriff's department academy... learn it use it and apply it.

never feel you can not keep a 3,000lbs object in your hands. you can, you just have to want it more than the thiefs.

like i said if you are able to get the car back and you do decide you want to keep it this time.
pm me and we'll go over what your life schedule is and how much patience you are willing to put into this car and keeping it yours.
in the end it is just a car, but the sweat and cash you dump into it will never be paid by insurance. let alone the memories. good luck and i hope the damage is not too much.
