Default LSD vs. ATTS

Hey i'm a noob here but i'm considering purchasing a prelude. I'm leaning towards the SH model, but from what i've gathered from the archived threads the SH is expensive to mod and the ATTS has a low power threshold. Anyways, all i really need is a daily driver and i probably wont do more than simple bolt on modifications (int, exh, headers). How does the ATTS compare to a LSD unit? Thanks.

Edit: I guess this is one of those beaten to death topics. lol.

Just go with the SH. The SH has no problems with horsepower unless you plan to do forced induction.

Besides, the base model doesn't come with a LSD, and a LSD (Quaife) will run you a grand.

K thx. The SH model i'm looking at is a '98, single owner and has about 90k miles on it. The guy is asking $9800 but will probably take $9000. Is this is right price range for the car?

That seems a little high IMO. I just bought a 97 SH about 4 months ago for $6800 w/120k miles. The thing was in great condition with just normal road rash.

TMV® Dealer Retail: $7,255 - $8,187 according to http://www.edmunds.com/used/19....html for a 98 SH

Thx, that puts pricing into perspective. KBB tends to inflate car value.

Anyways, how much work is necessary in order to see 200whp?

nvrmind...

Keep in mind that the SH can't run any good engine management systems, like the ones that you would want if you're looking for 200whp.

Base -vs- SH in the Prelude Essential Facts. I'm being nice before someone eats your soul.

before I decided to sell my SH my only real option of engine management was greddy emanage. From what I heard it wasn't the best out there, but was good and every new version was getting better. If youre only going to do a moderate amount of mods I'd go with the SH - atts can be a whole lot of fun when you get to know your car well.

Now I'd like to add a shameless plug if I can ... http://www.socalprelude.com/viewtopic.php?t=12068

Greddy E-manage and VFAC are your only tuneable options with the SH that dont interfere with the ECU/ATTS.. Greddy being the better of the 2 for sure. If its going to be a daily driver/fun car to drive the twisties on I would personally go with the SH it holds corners like its a slot car.

no, the blocks are different......you wouldn't want to anyways, there' too much electronics involved, plus, it's at least another 70lbs of weight.

**shameless plug time**.......
