In-Car Footage from Autobahn Race (Full Session)
We had a MWHC race last weekend at Autobahn Country Club (south course). Here is the in-car for the whole race session (120mb) in the Spoon car:

At the start, mstewar was right next to me in another H2 car but unfortunately he got blackflagged for blowing the sound limit after 6 laps.
You probably wonder why I drove like I stole the car even thought it appeared that the track was pretty clear with no one around me. Well.... the red 944 GTS2 car that I passed, he was actually on my tail for almost the whole race. The 944 driver is in the process of uploading his vid onto Google. It would be cool to watch the race from both perspective. I will keep you guys updated once his vid is up.
Towards the end of the vid, you can see that I was getting closer to Chris F's HU car. But don't be fooled that I was faster... Chris' fastest lap was 2 sec faster than mine with his turbo pig, but only that he had to back off to let the car cool after flying around for a few hot laps.
So overall I was still able to catch up a little bit, but still wasn't enough to pass him before the checkered.

105 I think.
But from what I could tell, many cars out there were as loud if not louder than Mark's but didn't get flagged.

wai when you have to time..
what camera do you use?
what mounts do you use?
and did you do any editing? if so what? (as far as making sound clearer or video clearer)
very nice clear, and very steady footage.

Glad you like the video.
I'm just using the most basic stuff.
Camera is a Canon ZR80 (discontinued model), and the mount is something similar to what I/O Port sells and is mounted to the rollcage:

But mine is from some AV online store that is much cheaper in price but works just as well.
To capture the video from tape to computer file, I use the program that comes with Windows called Movie Maker. This is another short one that I did with the same program, with some kind of "editing":
Putnam Race: Clicky

I just wish it was a bit crappier so I could've got around him at some point this weekend..

Mine is getting processed by Google Video right now. I can't wait to see the 944 footage, apparently he captured my 'off' during the start really well.
Whew!
Mine is somewhat interesting, about 10 minutes of chasing Colin's CRX. I picked up some lessons from him, so I don't mind that I was behind him, and I couldn't sustain the pace anyway (damn water temp gauge was pegged, as was oil, but oil temp is normal..)

Here's the 944's video! Watch me try to kill myself!

This is the one Wai passed about half-way thru, and he caught my "off".
Thanks, "Eric in Chicago"! I was "sure" that Colin (grey CRX) was going to sneak between me and the red thing so I left him room. Too much room I guess

There were times that he certainly was catching up! And I had to really really focus to make sure that I wouldn't make any mistakes like locking the brakes, mis shift, or spin outs. It was a great race (although out of class
).
