The cigarette lighter in my '03 CRV isn't working, it's not the fuse. I have to go away this weekend, and all the dealerships that are so helpful before purchasing a car don't really seem to want to help much anymore. Does anyone know what else it might be?

 

Not sure about your '03, but the manual for my 97 says the power plug won't work as a cigarette lighter.

 

At the risk of stating the obvious... the ignition switch needs to be in the run or accesory position to power the outlet. But you probably know that.

Sometimes the problem is caused by accesory plugs that don't seat well in the outlet. Are you sure it's dead?

by the way, there a good DIY mod to make the rear plug always hot. You just need to jump the relay, nothing more
