Synthetic Oil
I've never used synthetic oil before.
I have about 1,000 miles on my Fit and I'd like to switch. My oil gauge says I'm at 90%. I don't know anything about this.
So is this a good time to switch? How often do I need oil changes after? And would I still use the same 5W20 oil in synthetic form?
Any tips would be great!

this has been covered before. Synthetic oil is mainly for high performance engines that rev high and produce lots of power. U could put it into the fit's engine, but IMO its just a waste of $5 a quart. U should change ur oil at either the 3000miles mark or wait until the oil meter says 15% (which is where i am changing it and where honda recommends it) which is about 5000miles.
To clarify, you can use any kind of API spec oil that the user's manual points out. Using a synthetic oil will bring up your margins on oil degradation and coking. But this is adding margin to margin that's already in mineral oil. In other words, your Fit motor will never produce the temperature and pressures that synthetic oil was designed to perform upon.
It's like adding a 6th coat of paint to the 5 you already put on. Is it really helping you?
If your motor was turbocharged wherin the oil flowing to the turbos can get really hot then synthetic oil is the way to go.
