Default Will This Benefit My H22?

Alright, I have a fully built H22 in my '94 Civic Coupe. Its got Mahle 9.1:1s, Eagle Rods, full Crower valvetrain and cams, etc, etc, etc. Now, its almost ready for the turbo, but I still need to get my wastegate, intercooler, and BOV. I just installed a 255 LPH High Pressure Walbro yesterday, and my Precision 1000cc injectors came in today. Question is, if I run the precisions without the turbo, will my resistor box do all the work? Will it run super rich, or will it be fine. I don't really have a need to install them yet, but I may as well, if it won't hurt. Just seeing if its worth throwing them on yet.

Thanks,
Rob

Your resistor box is not what's going to make your car run pig rich, but your stock ECU will. You need to get some sort of engine management to control those injectors or else you'll be washing your cylinder walls with fuel.

I would suggest getting any OBD1 ecu (P72, P28, P06, ETC), get it chipped and socketed with a basemap for your 1000cc injectors. Then get it tuned for driveability via CROME, Uber, Hondata, or Neptune.

I've got a S200 that's been tuned for my setup. I'll consult my shop before I do anything retarded. My main question was just to ask if I'd see any slight gains with injectors that are 3x bigger than stock.

^pretty much not unless you tune for them

which i would just wait till you got the turbo installed to put 1000 cc injectors

Nothing that you couldn't have gotten with the stock injectors. More fuel doesn't equal more HP. Injectors as big as yours are used for cars making some serious HP by forced induction, where stock injectors cannot supply the fuel needed to make those amounts of power safely. As for NA, those ginormous injectors don't serve any real benefit untill you are boosted.

a 340cc injector that supplys 300cc of fuel, vs a 1000cc injecotr supplying 300cc of fuel, will net the same exact power. so basically its pointless to install them unless u want to make sure they work and whaot not.

ok i don't want to sound like an ***. but i just figured someone who has done this much work to their prelude would have some knowledge about this particular subject? props for building the engine but it just seems like this would be a trivial question

The limiting factor in an engine, is how much air you can put into it and how fast. That's why you can get a supercharger, turbo, or *NOS*... Fuel isn't an issue, if you put your new injectors as they are, you'll put waaaay too much fuel in.

Wait for the turbo, with such a nice setup... why mess it up now?

Yeah, it was kind of a dumb question. Anyways, it should be done in about a month. I'm going to start a thread on my progress in the Prelude forum to keep you guys updated. Thanks for the help anyways.

^well it wasn't like "dumb dumb"

but i guess its just nice to be safe sometimes and at least you can ask a question correctly..

too many users on here are like

"whats wrong with my prelude.........IT MAKES A WEIRD NOISE!!"

how the hell are you supposed to answer that?

Very true. Like you said, better safe than sorry, and in this case I've learned a little bit more about fuel injection.

More like 18 psi and running low 12s. They were a steal. I got them for $200.
