My elusive s2000. No flaming, just venting.
Here it is, My "Eleanor" car right now.
EDITED: 2005, Grand Prix White, F22, AP2, and one bad *** car. I have driven Hondas with powerful engines before, but none compare to this stock S2000. The VTEC engagement is smooth, but powerful. The car is balanced and reassuring in the corners. Everything about this car, to me, is pure happiness.
I have driven this very car. It has the Titanium shift ****, along with the 6cd changer. If I were to get it, it would have to come with the OEM wing spoiler and front air dam.

I realize, this thread may be gay to some of you. But I dont really give a rats rear end.
What do I have to do to change my life around enough to be able to comfortabally afford my dream? Well, thats where you intelligent guys and girls that have one come in.
I already am en route to finsihing up my AAS, with a further goal of a full on BS, or a BA down the line.
Im 21 years old, no kids, single, and support myself while living at home.
Help me out here HT. Help me get my car.

Thats just the thing. Im struggling right now with a $379 payment now, and I know Id REALLY be burning by bank at the end of the month, even with an older s2k.
Unfortunately the State of TN dept of Correction is underpaid, as compared to similar job fields in the country.
Thats why its so elusive for me right now.
BTW: I just broke turned a 51.681 with my s2k at the Tsukuba on GT4. WooHoo!

only advice i can give you is ether finance that bitch and have a high *** car payments for a year then re-fi, or find a higher paying job.
im only 20 living in cali, i just got an ap1 3 months ago, before that i had an 05 Sti, that car inspired me to switch jobs and go for something i really wanted.

Isn't that an '04 or '05? Its got the older wheels and old seats with what seems to be the tan interior. Very nice car though.... I am working to get an 06 right now through a couple of dealers! GPW is beautiful!

i say u wait until you dont have to struggle. Hey u never know later u might even have a way to buy something better than an s2k. i have an 05 sk2 i paid about 700 to 750 on car plus insurance. But then again i saved enought to pay have of the car plus about a year an a half worth of insurance, so my opinion just wait.
Yea a way better paying job would really help you out...but then again SAVING is the way to go...
I work in sales man and if its one thing I've learned is that sales is the easiest jobs to get..if you have good sales skills of course..also have to be a people person...but trust me..the commission pays man..try rental cars maybe?!?..thats what im doing right now and I make about $4000 a month before taxes and I do live at home.
Im 20 years old with MY06 Suzuka/blue&black interior
I went the lease route and I will buy it back either way..lol..
$299+taxes and $400 in insurance<---yea that hurts..lol..but its worth it..
just work for what you want man..all that sweat and hard work will pay off..patience!!..good luck to ya!!

^^yup just wait man. You won't be even able to afford the gas, maintenance, etc If you blow a tire thay aren't cheap. Nothing on this car is cheap. Think of it as going to Disney...you pay a lot just to get in and then when you want something added it costs even more
save up for a year and use that as a DP. Im saving my money till the end of the year. I could buy a used one now but you never know what the future holds. I plan to put down 10 grand and finance about 8, should be cheap

have some restraint, I rushed out and bought a wrx when it came out, only to have to sell it when I bought a house. Make sure you are in a place where you are financially stable, and that you can afford it. I'd really like to buy a s2k, but I'll continue to drive my shitty vw until I take care of more important things.
Im 19, turn 20 next month. Ive had this car since i was 18. Ive paid 800 a month (payment/insurance) for this past year, and it has been a great decision. Some months i struggle, but just to have this car to drive everyday brings me joy. I say do what you have to do to get it, you will not regret it.
I'm 18, work full time at a very good job and live at home. I recently traded my RSX Type S for an 06 S2000. I love it, but it's REALLY expensive. Don't do it if you don't have complete disposable income. I pay $800 a month (payment and insurance) for the car.

well im a security guard i dont get paid too much neither but i have no bills. im saving up the *** to get one next spring. i live at home and have nothing to pay for but a $50 phone bill and a $117 a month car. im planning to save up $7000 in cash and $5000 trade in car. if i finance 8k i'll get a decent s2k with low mileage. sounds like a good plan right?
hey. what kind of hardships should i come to expect from a 2000-2002 s2000?
my civic si is coming up on 218000 miles. just spent 900 on repairs.. still overheating . ac went out. blah. but it gave me a hell of a run. figure a new honda s2000 is something i should be able to sleep well at night with insurance is actually cheaper then an rsx type s i want. so im going s2000 route. used. anywhere between 18000-22000 is fine by me. looking at around 500 dollars a month total with 5000 down.
i'll be happy with an 00-02 right? coming from a 95 civic si? i've researched the differences. not to big of concerns for me.. except 2 : is the car that crazzy to drive? the earlier models? will i really wreck it if i hit a shity bump (we have tons of these in vegas) on the freeway? and of course. the non glass rear window. is that a real concern to anyone? unless im in a freezing climate? cause its just the defroster right? or does it scratch and look cheap back there?
