Default LS w/ GSR swap

I've got a 96 ls. I love it. My friend here in town owns the local speed shop, and he's got a GSR motor (b18c I think), JDM, w/about 40k on it that he'll trade and install in my car for my b18b for about $1k total. Pretty good deal in my opinion, but I'm just a little curious about what sort of possible problems I can anticipate down the line. His shop can do the swap, and they've done this same operation on several other integras. Any words of advice/warning before I do this??

Make sure you're getting the respective tranny as well. A GSR w/ your LS tranny will be poopy.

Would it really be that detrimental to his car's performance? A b18c1 w/ an LS tranny would still whoop a b18b w/ an LS tranny, right?

If the shop knows what they are doing and they have done many successful swaps in the past, I thing you'll be fine. If done right, you will have no problems in the future. Just keep up the maintenance.

Just turbo your LS...Forget the GSR swap...Turbo LS would spank a GSR with some hard motor work...Maybe that why he wants to trade...

lISTEN TO WHAT he says... I have this swap right now JDM B18C w/LS tranny. Its ok, but you know theres more potential in the motor if it didnt take so long to climb in the gears. Im working on getting a 96 JDM ITR w/4.785FD. If you wanna go boost, I would keep the LS or GSR tranny. But for all motor, I would even try to get rid of the GSR tranny or slap in JDM R FD or ATS FD.

ANd you can also build up your LS all motor, it all depends on if you want boost or N/A.. And dont believe all the hype on vtec, its cool to have. But you can always improve what you have now in your car. I want to build another LS motor, my old was just stock. Not the same HP as GSR, but they have around the same amount of trq.
