HRCA Members?
A co-worker of mine is, I am not.
Is it any different than AAA? I have my insurance through them, which means I have to be a member, which means I get roadside assistance.

Not true - you have to pay for additional coverage if you want bike coverage in case you need to be towed. I was under the same assumption and got screwed with a big *** tow bill after a flat tire earlier this year.

I am, but I only do the $29.95 package which does not have road side or towing or non-honda towing dispatch. I have a truck and 14' enclosed motorcycle trailer so if I am local, I'll call my old man or a buddy to come bail me out, or figure something else out. I have been ok so far. I have been a member for a couple years now. It was worth it for me for the discounted insurance, discount on Erion Racing (cams, ohlins rear shock, brake lines, some other things I am forgetting), Freddie Spencer school, the lost key retrieval thing is cool. There are tons of things online that seem really cool, but I never have the time to do. Plus I got a bunch of cool things like this neat little Swiss tool that I can almost disassemble my bike with and I use it more then the tool kit that came with my bikes. Plus they do like drawings/contests and member only events and things like that. I have been to the Honda Hoot once and it was a BLAST! The hotel discount guide alone pays for the membership as I do a lot of weekend ride trips. I mean for $30 a year, it was worth it do me. I **** away (literally) more then that at the bar in one night, so...
Just go check out their website. It was good enough to sell me on. The Red Rider mag is actually kind of cool for giving me ideas for new places to go check out.

How did you like the Freddie Spencer School? I attended the California Superbike school and was planning to go for a 2-day camp which costs about the same as Freddie's 2-day school.

Honestly I don't know. Haven't a clue, but it only needs to be $2.50 a month to pay for the membership, so that alone sold me on it, plus all the other free stuff. Hell at least do it for the free HRC stickers!

I think my membership runs out in a couple months. But regardless, I find it quite amusing that when I purchased my M3 at the dealership with the upgraded BMW Assist, every vehicle that I ride in, including my motorcycle, is covered with the roadside assistance/towing.

This is going off memory from about 5 years ago so bare with me here. Absolutley LOVED it. Meeting Fast Freddie and just sitting in on one classroom session is worth the price of admission alone. I like that they took the track and broke it down into segments. We would study the segments in class, then go apply what we learned to those sections. Then we would learn how to transition those segments into a smooth laps. They focus highly on technique, as I'm sure most schools do as technique is something you can take with you everywhere. Plus who wouldn't want to tackle LVMS on a CBR600RR. Unfortunately I do not have any other riding schools to compare too, but I 100% feel as I got my moneys worth and more as I still learn and realize techniques to this day and why they are taught. It's cool when you can go out and tackle a track and remember everything you've learned thus far and it all just clicks after a session and you can just go out and have a blast the rest of the time there. I did the Level 1 street riding 3-day school. I only had one season of riding under my belt so I chose to do this early before I learned any bad habbits. It's nice 5 years later to have others comment on good track habbits every once in a while.
