Congratulations to ECHC.
A fine event, close racing, crowd screaming, no contact, and they said it couldn't be done...and they were wrong.
Special thanks to Drew (Cobra). Stepped into Grid Chief dutiies with 15 minutes training and handled it like he'd done it all his life. Way to go Drew.
But Drew you are wrong in your other post. Matt Bookler "nailed" the Star Spangled Banner. Wasn't Whitney Houston, but better than most I've heard on TV. He's got the job permanently if he wants it.
The ECHC sponsors were all pleased. I took Larry Narcus of Carbotech out on a pace lap and took him to the start stand for a race. He said the course was tougher than Sebring on brakes. I loved his quote as we pulled into the pits, "You expect me to make a brake pad for this????"
A special thanks to Karl and Scott for the trophy that they presented to me and my family for helping get the series working. It was totally unexpected and most appreciated. Thanks guys.
Yup. No gloves equals black flag. Safety will not be compromised. During post race impound, several other drivers were counciled about safety gear.
Yup again. Post race impound will be a part of ECHC as well as all of the other NASA races. We will be requiring drivers to be responsible for their cars legality and safety and will be checking it frequently.
Thanks for letting NASA - Virginia host the ECHC.
Grumpy - who is REALLY tired arriving home at 7 PM Monday.

Hey Grumpy,
Sorry I wasn't able to get that tour you offered. I introduced myself briefly to you during ECHC qualifying on Saturday, but figured you, as well as most everyone else was too busy with the big weekend!
Thanks for a great event to introduce an enthusiast to a great sport!

Thanks Grumpy, for the kind words, and for being strict on safety.
