If i dump the clutch and have a bad tire spin with wheel hop the check engine light will come on. First time this happened it cut the motor off for a split second and came right back on but ran kinda crappy until i cut the key off and back on. Then ran fine. SO i gave it another try and the check engine light comes on again but ran fine. Turn it off and back on and CEL is off. What gives????

 

how about you check the code before we try to guess what your problem is.

 

what kind of clutch are you using?

 

Did you do your swap?? On bolth my rex's I swapped the CEL would come on after a couple runs cuz I wired the O2 sensors together. If you didnt do your swap than thats prob whats happening. No big deal

 

Yeah the code would be helpful.

 

you got some loose wire some where when the car hops it is proably shaking the wire and that might be giving you a code
what code are you getting?

 

get some good struts and you'll stop the wheel hop
