I have a 90 crx that was recently painted, upon putting the hatch back on and putting the foam gasket back around the hatch opening, i get water leaks in 2 places that i have yet to be able to fix by swapping the gasket out with another i have, or by adjusting the hatch to close tighter? it leaks above the drivers rear tail light section and up by the pass side hatch support mount... both seem like they are pooling water and slowly just start running over the gasket.

has anyone run across this? is this common? is there possibly some kind of gasket that goes on the hatch itself that is missing?

i bought the car in kind of rough condition so i'm not sure if was missing something before i got it? I dont have a crx handy to look at to compare...

any advice or pictures of what the seal should look like would be helpful.
