Default What motor is this?

Ok so I ordered a motor for a friend from a shop i care not to de-face yet.

So the motor shows up...we had ordered a h23a1 dohc vtec

We received a F2*B with the number mostly ground off...

here's a pc of the engine off their website...we will follow up with pics of our engine momentarily.

i guess that's even if it's their fault-- that's gay

there's alot of bad stories about osaka motors.

i think some ppl had some good but way more bad. and the one of the good experiences was when the dude actually went there to grab his motor

I wanna hear that good story.

Contact them and get them to take it back and give you the motor you ordered. If not make friends with a lawyer and have them see a lawsuit in their future.

Basically decide what you'd rather have, the H23A torquey but less rev happy engine or the F20b less torque but free-revving iron sleeved block (the LSD tranny isn't bad).

If you want the H23A contact Osaka & tell them it was their mistake & they are responsible to replace it with an H23A or to refund you the value of an H23A block. If they won't work with you report them to the BBB. If you live close enough take them to small claims. Otherwise, I would love to see a lawsuit put together for all the people ripped off by Osaka. It might finally put them out of business, there are unfortunately a few other importers of similar reputation that are making $ stealing from people & getting away with it.

Edit:
Since I can't make out anything on the engine stamp from the pic, one way to tell it's an H23A or F20b (besides pulling the head & measuring the cylinder bores, H23A is 87mm, F20b is 85mm) is the stamp on the back of the head. My H23A head came with just your standard P13 head, I'm not sure about the F20b but I imagine it comes with something a little fancier like a P5P head.

From the pic you can't tell but you can see most of the f part of the 2 and most of the b
M

The deal is we had ordered a dohc v-tec h23...as im sure you are all aware the 'lude isn't a light weight...we wanted a torquey engine to bolt a turbo onto...

anyone know where we can get said engine?

the h23vtec only came with an auto tranny out of the accord sir wagon i believe.

seems pretty shady to me that they are trying to pass the f20b off as an h23a.

call them, if they want to charge your anything, put in a dispute to the credit card. very simple.

We made it very clear to Sam the "manager" that we would not accept this motor as a h23a1 and that we would dispute the charge with the credit card company if they refused to co-operate...he hung up on us...several times
