How fast would the M B have to be going to push my prelude 5 - 7 feet .. passenger rear panel + a bit of the door?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Are you wanting everyone here to guesstimate something for you or are you actually wanting a real answer? You can always pick up a physics book and it will give you a pretty close guess if you know the weight of the car that hit you. Just figure out the friction coefficient and the initial force to overcome the gravity holding your car in place, and also if you really feel like it you could probably even figure the amount of force absorbed by you car, but that would take a little bit of work

i was rear ended by a 240 going 40 (and de-accellerating) and my trunk was gone on my 96 lude, both doors were jammed shut, wheels pushed up in back seat, it was totaled (you know they're made to give so your body doesn't get reemed)
the 240's front end was gone, engine dropped, everything pushed back to firewall
now a steel cage hitting you that fast would probably do more damage i would think (91 benz was steel frame, right?)

well all u need to do is weigh your prelude and the benz. find teh coefficient of friction of the tire compound. then measure the static contact patch of the tire while sitting still. then use a couple of physics forumlas and viola, your done.

The new Benz's are like tanks too!!
My wife loves MB. On her ML 55amg she replaces brakes and rotors every 10-12k miles. Same with the E55amg.

if he rear ended you its his fault any way, it doesnt matter what speed he was going, if the cop sees excessive damage to either car and measures the skid marks if there are any they can calculate the speed the MB was traveling. But really it doesnt matter he will be cited for unsafe driving distance and causing the accident. A speeding ticket would just be icing on the cake but that **** is baked already.
