Si or wrx or tc
Hey every one,
Im geting a new car soon and i have about 25K and the cars that are new in the range would be the si,wrx,tc and i just curious out of the 3 which car would be the best to have. even though the wrx could out run any of the 2 but lets just say if a turbo do come out for the si which would be the best car to have. or should i wait for the new 07 Type R? right now im driving a 92' 3000GT SL and that car has done its share. So yea please share your idea. Thank You

WRX Is the best for driveability and mods right now proly. The SI will be a fun toy soon enough, but you cant argue with the Subaru and all wheel drive.
TC... no, just no. I think that car is WAY over rated.

YESSSS! Someone finally agree's. I get the most looks from guys driving TC's. Totally over rated. They look good, but no power. For the money I would rather have an EX FG coupe. Or something. Not saying they are not good cars, just agreeing with Demonis. Over rated.

Forgett the Tc. Between the other two, depends what your looking for. The WRX is practical with 4 doors, awd, turbo. It'd be hard not to pick the WRX, but the Si is very tempting. JMO.
Honda, more reliable, easier on gas, will have the most mods in the future, with a turbo will spank a stock Sti (they run 16's in the 1/4 BTW). 7 years, 100,000 warranty is also hard to beat, no to mention it's reliable. Plus if you change your mind in 5 years, the Si will retain it's value, it's a Honda.

As for the other 2... definately nothing wrong with the WRX, but in comparison to the Si, the Si will be the best bet down the road. Also if you go to subaru's website and price out a new sedan... even with just the basic package is starts out at $25K... so you will definately be stretching your budget. The Si on the other hand, as you can see from a lot of peoples posts can be gotten for 20-22k out the door from the dealer. Plus it will retain its value a hell of a lot better. Working at a car dealership as a salesman, I saw them give more money for an 03 Civic 4dr Ex with all power options then they did for an 03 WRX and the suby had less miles.
If you got the cash to buy the car and a bunch of upgrades right out the gate then you could consider the WRX, but if you are gonna buy the car and save up for the modifications, then get the Si, save the rest for when more mods come out and then strap a turbo kit up to the K20Z3 it has and walk all over WRX's... JMO.

Its true.. SI is just a wonderful Car.. and looks better than the Subaru :D
Honda is HONDA .
Just be careful with the salesmen, they're bad
My Si costed me exactly 25K (with Aero Kit, Fog Lights, Extended Warranty, Michelin P2 17" Summer tires, RoadBlock, and 5-year of AAA).

WRX>Civic si. I shopped for a new car I actually had a deposit on an Si until I drove the WRX. Go drive one, you will not be dissapointed. AWD turbo 4 door, huge 4pot brakes up front 2.5L engine, bigger injectors than STi Stock. etc. The only downside it the fuel economy. You can get a TR version for 23 grand easily with dealer rebates.
I still think my car looks odd and ugly from certain angles but performance makes up for it. These things are capable of 13.7 stock Quarter mile and easily modded to run low 13s with only a turboback exhaust and EM.
Like I said go drive one you'll love it.

When I got my car I was always leaning towards the Si because I am a honda girl. But I did look into the tC heavily I even had a deposit on one. Drive everything that even sparks an interest. I even drove a 06 eclipse.
Ya the wrx is a very good car.. but any car the has a turbo will bring problems in the future so i mean is that worth it. pluse whats the difference with the regular wrx and the TR i know its tune ready but whats not tune ready on the regular one?
I'll agree and say the WRX doesnt look as good as the SI, but the WRX... something about it makes me want to go rally in a pasture... wouldnt dare do that in the SI, care too much about it. And it got doored
TR is just a trim level. No fog light, different seats, different radio/interior bits. Mechanically they are the same.
As far as reliability/maintenance if you buy a new car I doubt that would really matter all that much. Unless you keep your cars 5+ years, which most people on this board wouldn't.
Resale value will be much better on the Civic Si though.

I don't understand how you are including a TC vs the Si or WRX. TC's capabilities are no where near the Si or WRX stock. So, now you are comparing FF to AWD.

Rally/Drifting or grip driving. In my opinion, I think the Si gives you more bang for your buck. The difference in price you spend to the WRX, you could add some great mods.

I test drove the tC... what a disappointment! The handling and power are
How's maintenance on the Hondas? And is it worth it to have extended warranty? From what I know these cars don't have problems...
I've had VW so far and in that case the extended warranty is a must!

No surprise on the test drive.
This vehicle does not require much maintenance. You always need to keep up the oil and fluids of your vehicle no matter what. You may not need to purchase the extended warranty especially if you plan on doing alot of mods. The manufacturer warranty this year was upgraded for a longer time period.
VW's suck. They have to be maintenanced at the dealer alot of times. Plus, they are not made the same. It is my experience that all Honda's are made with strong parts and last longer than any other vehicle.
