Question about the new Prelude (oil cooler)
I recently just purchased a 1993 Prelude Si with 140,000 miles on it for $2,700. Pretty nice car, needs a lot of work, but definitely up to the challenge. Owned 2 DSMs before this car and am looking forward to learn about the H22 & H23.
Purchased the car not knowing that there was an oil leak coming from the o-ring of the oil cooler; dripping onto the downpipe and causing some smoking issues. Did some researching and it appears to be a fairly common problem with these cars. I'll be replacing the oil cooler & o-ring this weekend, but was wondering, before I purchase a Chiltons manual, how difficult is it to get this accomplished with the vehicle up on jack stands? I believe I read that positioning the o-ring is the most difficult part, why is this? Seems simple to me.
Thanks for the help.
